Step by step instructions

First, find the video that has subtitles. You don't want autogenerated subtitles, but videos that are published together with the subtitles. One such video is "Nico's weg A1". To get the subtitles, click on "more".

As the description panel opens, you will see the "Show transcript" button.

In the transcript that will open next to the video, open the menu with the three dots and select "Toggle timestamps".

Just click and hold your left mouse button, drag your mouse down until you select the whole text in the transcript panel, and then release the left mouse button.

Press Ctrl-C, and then you can paste the text into your favorite text editor and use it to learn German.
